With heavy hearts, we regret to inform our beloved audiences that the much anticipated LVK Adult Acting Studio’s world premiere of A LONG DAY’S JOURNEY INTO MUSIC (book and lyrics by Leslie Vonkamper) will be cancelled until further notice. The Eugene O’Neill Estate has issued a “cease and desist” letter prohibiting us from “invoking Mr. O’Neill’s work or name ever again. You sully the name of this American treasure simply by uttering it. Good day to you, Ms. Vonkamper.”

The LVK Adult Acting Studio is open to pro bono offers of legal representation from lawyers in the community, since the “Ms. Vonkamper” to whom this document was issued does not exist, and this seems to be a simple case of mistaken identity.

In lieu of this updated classic tale (now set to music!), Leslie and a selection of students who happened to be available tonight will instead produce an entire play from start to finish in the hour-long constraints of the usual class period.
